Blore's Recreation Centre
Blore's Piece in St Stephen's Road is named after Headmaster George Blore (HM 1873-86). It has been used by the School as a games field for over a hundred years.
It is now dominated by the Recreation Centre, opened by the Duchess of Kent in 1990. The facilities include a Sports Hall, Swimming Pool, Squash Courts, Fitness Suite and Changing Rooms. It is run by a Recreation Centre Manager, and is also open to the public through a membership scheme. For details, see the Centre's website: King's School Recreation Centre.
Outdoors there are netball courts and an artificial grass hockey pitch, both of which convert to tennis courts in the summer.
