Blackfriars and Radigunds

The School uses several buildings, old and new, within easy walking distance of the Mint Yard Gate.

  • Blackfriars The Refectory of the Canterbury Dominican Friary has been used by the Art Department since 1983.
  • Old Synagogue The nineteenth century Synagogue in King Street was acquired by the School in 1982. It is used for music lessons and small concerts.
  • The Craft Design and Technology Centre  The CDT Centre in St Radigunds Street was opened by Lord Dainton in 1987. It is a purpose-built facility, on the site of an old sweet factory.
  • The Milner Hall The Maurice Milner Memorial Hall in the Borough, just outside the Mint Yard Gate, is used for drama and fencing, as well as exams.
  • St Mary's Hall St Mary's Hall, also in the Borough, has been used for drama since 1974.
  • St Alphege's Hall , in Palace Street opposite Walpole House, is used for musical and dramatic events as well as exams.
  • The School Shop is in Palace Street, but it can also be accessed from within the Precincts.
