Sixth Form Entry
Each year approximately 50 pupils join the school in the Sixth Form.
Applicants are normally under 17 years of age on 1st September of the year of entry.
Visiting the school
Open Days are held in June and October. Individual visits are also undertaken during term time.
The first step in the admissions process is to Register. Candidates will then be sent the link to the online application form.
Entry registration is kept confidential until such time as a reference is required.
Entry is by competitive examination and interview at King’s. Overseas candidates may sit the examination at the nearest British Council Office. Successful candidates should expect to achieve at least seven (I)GCSEs at Grade B or Grade 6.
The closing date for entrants is in October; examinations and interviews are in November. Candidates are expected to sit a general paper and two subjects of their choice.
Academic, Music, Art and Sports scholarships are available to Sixth Form entrants. Academic Scholarships can be awarded for outstanding performance in the Sixth Form entrance examination held in November
Choice of House
House choice is dependent on available spaces in the different boarding and day Houses, but the Admissions Department always aims to provide each House with a balanced intake in terms of pupils’ talents and backgrounds.
