🏑 Congratulations to our U13A Girls` Hockey team and coach Mr Stevenson on a fantastic runners-up finish at the IAPS Regional Tournament, securing their place in the National Finals this November.
Thankfully, the weather stayed dry for most of the tournament, only turning towards the end, so we swapped the hockey pitch for an indoor backdrop for the team photo! ☔👏

🌿🐝Yesterday, Junior King`s pupils stepped outside the classroom and into the natural world for a wonderful Environment Day. From collecting and identifying minibeasts to building bug hotels, making seed bombs and planting bulbs around the school grounds, pupils discovered just how important even the smallest creatures are to our environment.
They also learned about the vital role of bees in our ecosystem and even had the opportunity to taste honey, bringing their learning to life in a memorable way.
With expert-led workshops and environmental games run by pupils from @thekingsschoolcanterbury and the @kingsinternationalcanterbury, it was a fantastic day of outdoor learning, inspiring our children to appreciate and care for the beautiful world around them. 🌱💚

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our Harvest Festival celebration. Our service at St Nicholas Church gave children the chance to celebrate the season, give thanks for all we have, and reflect on the importance of supporting others.

🎶 A memorable evening of music at St Mary`s Church, Goudhurst, saw the @juniorkingssch Chamber Choir and @thekingsschoolcanterbury Crypt Choir come together for a special joint concert.
The performance celebrated the strength of choral singing across both schools, with audiences enjoying a varied programme from the talented young musicians. It was particularly heartening to see former Junior King`s Chamber Choir members now singing as part of The King`s School Canterbury`s Crypt Choir, highlighting the musical journey shared across the King`s family.
Junior King`s Chamber Choir also performed Fire Crow, a piece about Thomas Becket written especially for the choir earlier this year by David Knotts.

🌾🐝 What a fantastic day at the East Kent Ploughing Match 2026!
A huge thank you to the @eastkentploughingmatch for such a warm welcome and another wonderful event. It was a pleasure to meet so many current and prospective families, OKS, friends, and members of the local community who stopped by our stand.
We were delighted to sponsor @kentcanineacademy1 and loved welcoming their team and four-legged friends to our stand for treats, photos, and plenty of fuss. Their doggie display was a big hit with visitors of all ages and brought lots of smiles.
Our much-loved Junior King`s bees were also back on the stand, perfectly complementing this year`s bee-themed activities and creating plenty of buzz among visitors. 🐝

The Friends of Junior King’s Committee recently harvested this year’s apple crop from the school orchard. The apples will be joined by locally grown pears and pressed into our much-loved organic apple and pear juice.
As always, the bottles will feature original artwork, but this year the Friends of Junior King’s have a particularly special idea behind the design.
They look forward to revealing the labels and sharing this year’s harvest with the school community when the juice goes on sale. Watch this space! 🍏✨

Pupils in Years 3 to 8 enjoyed an unforgettable Outings Day, embracing the great outdoors and exploring destinations including Howletts Wild Animal Park, Wingham Wildlife Park, Wildwood, Betteshanger Country Park, Leeds Castle and Rye Watersports.
Meanwhile, Year 7 pupils made the most of their residential trip to Kingswood in Ashford, taking part in exciting challenges, building confidence and creating lasting memories.
From discovering new experiences and developing new skills to strengthening friendships and teamwork, it was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to learn, explore and have fun beyond the classroom.

What a week for sport at Junior King’s! 🏆⚽🏑🏊♀️🏃♂️
From team triumphs to individual excellence, our pupils have enjoyed an outstanding week of sporting success.
Congratulations to our U13A Football team, who were crowned Shapira Cup champions, showing exceptional teamwork throughout this prestigious tournament. Our U11A Football team also impressed, finishing runners-up at the Spring Grove Tournament, missing out on first place by just one point.
On the hockey pitch on Wednesday, the U11A, B and C teams all secured victories, demonstrating growing confidence, excellent communication and great team spirit throughout their matches.
We are also delighted to celebrate Heidi and Magnus (Year 7), who achieved fantastic results at the Eastbourne College National Biathlon Qualifier. Heidi won her age group overall, while Magnus secured an excellent third-place finish, with both pupils now hoping to qualify for the National Finals in 2027.
These are just a few of the many achievements celebrated this week, alongside numerous fixtures, house matches and sporting events across the school.

What a wonderful celebration of harvest, community and giving! 🌾
Our Pre-Prep families gathered for a special Harvest Festival service led by Mother Lucy before heading to a lively Farmers’ Market run by our enthusiastic Year 2 pupils. From keen sales pitches to impressive negotiation skills, the children embraced their roles with confidence and enthusiasm.
Together, the market raised an incredible £320, and all proceeds, along with any remaining produce, will be donated to All Saints’ Larder. Thank you to everyone who donated, supported and helped make such a positive difference. 💛

It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces enjoying Pilates, healthy refreshments and the opportunity to pause, recharge and connect.

Our pupils enjoyed an unforgettable hands-on farming experience, from climbing aboard tractors and lorries to feeding cows, tasting fresh raspberries, exploring the apple orchards and even picking their own apples. 🍎🐄
