🏃‍♀️🏏 Amid the flurry of end of term events last week, two remarkable sporting achievements deserve special recognition.

Our athletes enjoyed a fantastic day at the National Prep Schools Athletic Finals at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, competing against some of the strongest young athletes in the country.

A special congratulations to Philippa, who finished 1st in the 150m and 2nd in the 75m, and to Ted, who recorded a season`s personal best of 1.61m to claim 2nd place in the high jump. We were also delighted to see strong performances from Ivan, Jack and Gabrielle, while Shona, Gabrielle, Deborah and Philippa represented the school superbly in the 4 x 100m relay. Every athlete demonstrated resilience, determination and exceptional sportsmanship throughout the day.

We are also proud to celebrate the U13 Girls Cricket Team from Junior King`s, who were crowned Kent County Champions after winning the Kent Cricket Hardball Eights Competition 2026. Victories over Eltham College in the semi final and Colfe`s in the final at Mote Park Cricket Club in Maidstone saw the girls lift the trophy for the first time.

These achievements are a wonderful way to reflect on another exceptional year of sport at Junior King`s. Congratulations to all involved in their success and for representing the school with such pride. 👏

🎓✨ Speech Day 2026 was a fitting celebration of an outstanding year at Junior King’s, recognising the achievements, growth and contributions of our pupils across the school community.

We were honoured to welcome Katy Granville-Chapman, Deputy Head at Wellington College, co-founder of Global Social Leaders and Associate Fellow of The Oxford Character Project, as our guest speaker. Her thought-provoking and inspiring address left a lasting impression on pupils, staff and families alike.

As the academic year comes to a close, we extend our warmest congratulations to the pupils, families and staff whose Junior King’s journey ends this summer. As they embark on exciting new adventures, we thank them for the part they have played in our community and look forward to hearing about their future successes. Among those we bid a fond farewell to is Miss Scott-Kilvert, who retires after an extraordinary 27 years with King`s and 25 years at Junior King’s. As Deputy Head and Head of Girls` Games, she has inspired and supported generations of pupils, leaving a lasting legacy within our community. She will be greatly missed by us all, and we thank her for her dedication, commitment and years of service. We hope she enjoys a happy retirement and many exciting adventures ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to our pupils, staff, families and the wider Junior King’s community for making this term and academic year so special. We wish everyone a restful, joyful and well-deserved summer break. ☀️

🐝Our Nature Club enjoyed an incredible activity session on Saturday as pupils suited up in full beekeeping gear and bravely opened a live hive. It was an exciting and enriching opportunity to get up close with nature and learn more about the fascinating world of bees.

For many of the pupils, this was their very first time being so close to a hive, making the experience even more memorable. We are incredibly proud of their curiosity, courage and willingness to step outside their comfort zones to try something completely new.

A fantastic hands-on learning experience that won`t be forgotten anytime soon! 🍯🐝

✈️🌍 Take-off with Flight JKS2026! Our Nursery and Pre-Prep children took families on a joyful trip around the world at this year’s Summer Review, with lively performances inspired by France, Thailand, Jamaica, India, South Africa and Sweden.

Year 4 recently enjoyed a wonderful morning @kingsinternationalcanterbury, taking part in their Environment Morning. ☀️

With glorious weather, pupils set off on a treasure hunt, collecting natural materials to create their own figures from twigs and leaves. They also explored the beautiful wildlife garden, searching for insects and studying them up close with magnifying glasses, even spotting newts in the pond!

Members of the International College organised a range of engaging activities, including making seed bombs and crafting “pet octopuses”.

It was a fantastic, educational experience, and the Junior King’s pupils were exemplary throughout. 🌿✨

🌟 A huge well done to all our pupils for their wonderful musical performances last week!

Our Middle School concert was filled with impressive singing and memorable solo moments, while the Summer Concert was a fantastic evening that showcased the confidence, dedication and musical talent across the school.
