Set in a beautiful, purpose-built barn within our school grounds, our Canterbury Nursery provides a warm and welcoming space for children from the term they turn three years old and above. Designed around play-based learning, our nursery helps little ones learn through curiosity, imagination and fun.
Alongside our nursery, we also run a friendly Baby and Toddler Group every Tuesday during term time, offering a relaxed and supportive space for younger children and their carers to connect and play.
We take a child-led approach, putting each child at the heart of their own learning journey. From their very first day, children are encouraged to explore, ask questions and enjoy discovering the world around them. It’s a happy, caring environment where every child can grow in confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Conveniently located just a short distance from central Canterbury and easily accessible from nearby villages such as Bridge, Bekesbourne and Sturry, our nursery is part of the local community and welcomes families looking for a nurturing start to their child’s education.

Open Mornings are held in May & October. Families are also welcome for personal tours or can join us for an upcoming event.
Our Open Mornings provide a wonderful opportunity for families to discover everything Junior King’s has to offer. Visitors can explore our beautiful grounds and facilities, meet our dedicated staff, and engage with pupils to gain a genuine insight into life at Junior King’s.
A local setting
At our Nursery, just two miles from the centre of Canterbury, we’ve created a calm, welcoming space where children can learn through play. Every corner is designed for what we like to call “secret learning” — fun, hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and confidence without ever feeling like formal lessons.
When the sun shines, the big barn doors open to our beautiful Nursery garden, where children can play, explore and connect with nature.
