As we bid farewell to January and welcome the cold, crisp days of February, the school, bathed in sunlight, reminds us of the privilege of being surrounded by such a wonderful learning environment.
I have thoroughly enjoyed interviewing more of our Year 8 scholars. This week, it was the turn of our Art and Academic Scholars, whose assessments took place at King’s. Their enthusiasm and confidence in their subjects is truly impressive.
This week also marked the 11+ scholarship assessments and Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, themed “Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.” Mr Stevenson delivered an inspiring assembly on managing anxiety and stress to help calm minds. Additionally, we held a “Time to Talk” session for all staff on Thursday to support wellbeing throughout the school. Several staff members who have undergone Mental Health First Aid training were able to offer valuable advice.
On Monday, we had the pleasure of welcoming author and illustrator Greg Stobbs to our school. Mr Stobbs visited Year 1 and Year 3, reading from his book “Cloud Boy.”
