The CanSat team has successfully deployed their satellite at a rocket launch event in Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome. The model satellite participates in a competition sponsored by the European Space Agency. The satellite has been designed to measure gamma radiation as a fast-response tool in case of nuclear accidents. The can landed safely, with its parachute, while transmitting data to the ground station. As expected, no gamma sources above background radiation were detected, but the test flight accomplished all the mission objectives.

Each member of the team (Sophia, Elizabeth, Honor, Nikolaus, Justin and Estelle) will receive an Industrial Cadets Silver Award for their completion of this challenging engineering project.
