The King’s School Canterbury is delighted to have been commended in the Performing Arts category of the Independent School of the Year Awards 2026, recognising the exceptional opportunities and experiences available to pupils across music, drama and dance.
The performing arts are an integral part of life at King’s, with pupils encouraged to explore their creativity through an extensive programme of productions, concerts and performances. Over the past year, highlights have included the King’s Week productions of Come From Away and As You Like It, alongside a packed calendar of musical performances including the long-running Friday @ 5.15 concert series, which showcases the talent of King’s musicians.
Pupils also benefit from opportunities to work with visiting professionals, perform in pupil-led productions and develop their technical and creative skills, ensuring the performing arts remain a vibrant and inspiring part of a King’s education.
This commendation is a testament to the commitment of our pupils, teaching staff and the wider King’s community, whose passion and dedication continue to make the performing arts flourish at King’s.
