Leadership, resilience and self-reliance were all put to the test by the CCF in its recent training exercise on a military training area in the Hampshire countryside.
The cadets training was put into action in a series of scenarios designed to test their ability to lead and plan under pressure. The two-day exercise involved supporting the government of a fictitious crown dependency struggling against illicit drug trafficking. Scenarios included providing emergency first aid to refugees, establishing vehicle check points and conducting a night time ambush of an enemy patrol.
The exercise ended with a coordinated final attack on the fictitious cartel base. Cadets were also offered the chance to try laser clay pigeon shooting and cook a variety of military rations.
The CCF is an activity offering fun, action and adventure to pupils in the Shell year and above.
