Over the Easter break, 25 Remove pupils undertook their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition in Holyhead, Anglesey, gaining an unforgettable experience of challenge, teamwork, and outdoor adventure.
Based at Anglesey Outdoors activity centre, pupils completed a demanding two-day expedition, covering 31km on foot and spending one night under canvas. The expedition tested resilience, navigation skills, and collaboration as pupils worked in teams to complete their assessed journey.
Alongside the expedition, pupils took part in a range of high-energy adventurous activities delivered by Anglesey Activities. These included coasteering along the rugged coastline, abseiling, gorge walking, and kayaking, offering opportunities to develop confidence and perseverance in a dynamic natural environment.
Evenings were spent exploring the local area, with visits to the beach and a headland viewpoint overlooking the lighthouse, providing time to reflect on the day’s challenges and achievements.
The expedition offered a powerful combination of physical challenge, personal development, and teamwork, leaving pupils with a strong sense of achievement and valuable skills that extend beyond the classroom.
