6b Economics pupils recently visited a local Kent business to explore how firms operate in competitive markets and respond to factors such as government policy, inflation, and climate change.
At Domaine Evremond, a vineyard and winery, Mark Gaskain (OKS) introduced pupils to viticulture in the UK and demonstrated how microeconomic concepts from the Theory of the Firm apply in practice. Meanwhile, in a parallel session held in the Science Auditorium, Peter Savill (OKS) led a stock market trading simulation, offering insights into investment banking and the workings of financial markets.
Thank you to our hosts for providing such engaging, real-world perspectives that enriched the pupils’ understanding of economics.
