On the back of record-breaking GCSE results for The King’s School Canterbury, 48 students at King’s International College, based on its own dedicated campus in Canterbury, are also celebrating a fabulous set of results following our intensive one-year GCSE programme.
Students join the International College from all over the world in Years 9, 10 or 11, with our one-year GCSE programme providing an academically ambitious pathway for students looking to progress to A Levels at The King’s School Canterbury or other leading UK independent schools.
This year, students completing our one-year programme achieved excellent outcomes across a broad range of subjects. 38% of all grades were awarded at grade 8 or 9 (A equivalent), 56% were awarded at grades 7 to 9 (A-A equivalent), and 92% of all grades were awarded at grades 4 to 9 (A*-C equivalent).
Students sat an average of 7.8 GCSEs each, making their achievements particularly impressive given that they completed their GCSE studies within just one academic year, with most also studying and sitting examinations in a language that is not their first.
The results provide an excellent foundation for the students’ next stage of education. 39 students (81% of the Year 11 cohort) have been offered a place in the Sixth Form at The King’s School Canterbury to study A Levels, while others will continue their education at other leading UK independent schools.
