The Junior King’s newsletter, The Week, reflects a busy and successful end to the Spring term. Overall, pupils achieved across a wide range of subjects. Throughout the weeks, pupils showed commitment, creativity and enthusiasm in lessons and activities. As a result, the Final Assembly celebrated many achievements both in and beyond the classroom.

This week, Interim Head Rob Stonier represented Junior King’s School at the Installation of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The event held great importance for the Cathedral and the wider community. Meanwhile, the Heads of School also attended the service, their reflections can be found in the full edition of The Week. In addition, five pupils from the Senior School were present, including three former OJKS pupils. Two pupils sang as part of the cathedral choir plus three School Governors took on important ceremonial roles.

During the end‑of‑term service, Mother Lucy spoke about Easter and its meaning. She described Easter as a time of hope, joy and new beginnings. She also encouraged pupils to think about kindness and love. Furthermore, she reminded the school community that Easter brings people together. As spring arrives, lighter days offer fresh energy and optimism.

The Pre‑Prep pupils added to the Easter celebrations this week. They took part in an Easter Bonnet Parade filled with colour and excitement. Shortly afterwards, a special visit from the Easter Bunny delighted pupils. Together, these events provided a joyful end to the term.

The school community also supported Year 8 pupils at the first Junior King’s School Careers’ Fair. Parents generously volunteered their time to share their career experiences. As a result, pupils gained valuable insight into different pathways. Mrs Bonilla‑Fernandez organised the event with great care. Feedback from pupils and guest speakers was extremely positive. Importantly, the fair helped pupils understand the world of work more clearly.
