The past week at Junior King’s shows the energy and success of the school community. As the academic year nears its end, pupils across all age groups took part in a wide range of activities. As a result, they showed both strong learning and excellent co‑curricular involvement.
One key highlight was the Leavers’ Service in Canterbury Cathedral. This special occasion gave time for reflection. It also allowed the Junior King’s community to celebrate the year’s successes, marking an important step for Year 8 pupils. Mother Lucy reminded our Year 8 pupils that they are reaching an important milestone in their personal and academic lives, referring to the poignant poem by Robert Frost, “The Road Not Taken” about the journey that each of us are on and the choices that we make and the consequences thereof.
On Wednesday afternoon, Junior House pupils performed a Drama and Music concert, showing confidence and creativity throughout. Their acting, musical performances, and singing were met with warm appreciation from the audience. Events like this help pupils develop invaluable skills such as public speaking, collaboration, problem‑solving, and teamwork, all important skills that will serve them well far beyond the stage.
Year 6 pupils competed in the “Buzzin for King’s” interschool quiz, performing well from the start and ultimately winning the competition. Not only did they show strong knowledge, but they also worked well together representing the school with pride.
