We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Anne Pujadas-Telmon and Dr Carl Lyon as Co-Heads of The King’s School Canterbury, International College from September.
The appointments mark a new chapter for the International College following the departure of the College’s founders, Jo and Bill Prior, in December. They established the College in 2018 as a specialist pathway for international students, aged 13 to 17, preparing for entry to leading UK boarding schools, including King’s.
Over the past two terms, Anne Pujadas-Telmon and Sarah Joseph have successfully led the College as Acting Joint Principals, providing continuity and stability while continuing to deliver the high standards of academic excellence, pastoral care and personalised support for which the College is known.
From September, Anne will continue in her leadership role as Co-Head, joined by Dr Carl Lyon, who has served as Senior Tutor at the International College for the past six years. Carl brings extensive experience of working with international students, having previously held Housemaster positions in both the UK and overseas. Their appointment reflects the College’s commitment to providing continuity for students, families and international partners, while continuing to build on its strong reputation for academic excellence and outstanding pastoral care.
Sarah Joseph will continue as Assistant Head, where her expertise and commitment to international education remain an invaluable part of the College community.
Jude Lowson, Head of The King’s School Canterbury, states:
“Anne and Carl are outstanding leaders who bring a wealth of experience, deep knowledge of our International College and an unwavering commitment to the success and wellbeing of every student. Over the past year, Anne and Sarah have provided excellent leadership, ensuring continuity and maintaining the high standards for which the College is known. I would like to thank Sarah for her significant contribution during this period and look forward to her continuing to play an important role for the College.
As Co-Heads, Anne and Carl are exceptionally well placed to lead the next chapter of the International College’s development. Together with our dedicated staff, they will continue to provide an outstanding educational experience for students from around the world, preparing them to thrive at King’s and at leading boarding schools across the UK.”
Anne Pujadas-Telmon comments:
“It has been a privilege to lead the College since January, and I am delighted to continue this journey alongside Carl. We are fortunate to work with an exceptional team, passionate about supporting every student to thrive both academically and personally. Together, we are committed to building on the College’s strong foundations and providing an outstanding experience for our international students”
Dr Carl Lyon comments:
“I am incredibly proud to take on this role and excited about the opportunities ahead as we continue to build on the College’s many strengths. One of the greatest privileges of working here is being part of such an outstanding and dedicated team. Their expertise and commitment ensure every student is known, valued and supported.”
