The King’s CanSat team participated in the regional rocket launches at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome; a competition that helps promote aerospace engineering and is supported by the European Space Agency & ESERO.

The team’s entry was a model satellite that monitors temperature, pressure, and CO2 & TVOC concentration. It reached an altitude of 400 metres and deployed a parachute before landing safely. The mission was a complete success as, during its descent, the satellite radioed the collected data to the station on the ground.

For their effort, all members of the team will be awarded an Industrial Cadets Silver Award and are waiting to hear if they have advanced to the finals.
