This year’s class of Sixth Formers achieved a 100% pass rate in their ILM Level 3 Qualification in Leadership and Management. The flawless pass rate is a remarkable accomplishment that reflects the pupil’s hard work, dedication and growing leadership potential.
King’s is one of the few schools in the country to offer a professional qualification in Leadership in the Sixth Form as an optional course alongside A-levels. Delivered in partnership with the Cadet Vocational College, the course provides pupils with a robust foundation in leadership theory and practice.
Participants explored a range of leadership styles, including servant leadership, authentic leadership, and transformational leadership, gaining insight into how different approaches can inspire and empower teams.
The course was not just theoretical; it was packed with practical, real-world tasks. One assessed task involved planning a summer hiking expedition to Scotland, with pupils applying strategic planning techniques to organise every detail of the trip, from route mapping and risk assessments to food logistics and team roles.
Pupils also demonstrated their management skills through individual presentations on a management issue of their choice. Topics ranged from Sixth Form induction approaches to enhancing school sports engagement, showcasing their ability to analyse problems, propose solutions and communicate effectively.
Dr Goddard, who oversees the Leadership programme, praised the pupils’ achievements:
“The pupils’ exemplary performance reflects their growing confidence in taking the lead and willingness to engage with complex leadership challenges. I am immensely proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing how these young leaders build on their first professional leadership qualification in the future.”
This outstanding result is a testament to the strength of the School’s partnership with Cadet Vocational College and the ambition of our pupils.
Congratulations to all our ILM Level 3 graduates!
