Our Running Wild activity group began one year ago and has gone from strength to strength since.
This year’s Removes returned to St Dunstan’s church in Canterbury to get stuck in and continue with the gardening projects and to offer a lending hand where it is needed most.
The transformation in just a few weeks has been remarkable. By trimming back overgrown bushes and clearing weeds and leaf litter, areas of the grounds that had not seen light for some time now look nicer and feel a lot safer. The work done will also help increase the biodiversity of the churchyard.
The pupils are quite rightly proud of the difference they have been able to make. As one pupil commented: “I loved giving back to the community. It is small things that make a big difference.”
