What an extraordinary week it has been at Junior King’s! Just a week ago, I witnessed an unforgettable moment at Haileybury. Our U11 girls’ hockey team battled through the IAPS National Finals to claim the title of National Champions. Nearly 200 schools entered the competition, and the finals showcased some exceptional teams. However, our girls rose to the challenge with courage, resilience, and an abundance of skill. This is a truly remarkable achievement and we could not be prouder of them. Well done to them all!
In addition to this sporting triumph, this week brought the joy of our Christmas Market. The Sports Hall was transformed into a festive wonderland filled with stalls and seasonal cheer. My heartfelt thanks go to The Friends of Junior King’s, whose hard work and creativity made the event magical for pupils and families alike.
Elsewhere in school, the festive spirit has been in full swing. We have delighted in the annual Nativity productions from our Nursery and Pre-Prep children, always a highlight of the season, and our boarders enjoyed a lively trip to the pantomime on Wednesday evening. These moments truly capture the warmth and joy of this time of year.
As we approach the end of term, there is still much to enjoy: Christmas dinners, discos, the House Song Competition and festive parties, all culminating on Wednesday with Christmas Jumper Day, a wonderful way to finish the term in style.

Finally, as my time at Junior King’s draws to a close, I want to express my deepest gratitude. It has been an immense privilege to lead this exceptional school and to be part of such a vibrant, caring community. Junior King’s will always hold a special place in my heart. I have loved getting to know your children and watching them flourish, and I am profoundly thankful to the incredible team who make everything we do possible. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and every success and happiness in the future.
