The King’s School Canterbury Boat Club has a proud history, but today, our boats and blades need updating to reflect our ambitions. Help our pupils to compete on the race-worthy equipment they need to achieve their personal bests and sustain the Club into the future. We’re a third of the way there. Please support us.
Luke Reiser, our new Head of Rowing, introduces the Boat Club Fleet Appeal:
Thank you for taking the time to consider this Appeal, launched in the latest edition of the OKS magazine. For those of you who don’t know me, I am the new Head of Rowing here at King’s. Today I work with a Club of around 100 pupils, training 6 days a week on a great body of still water. Our members have created a strong and supportive team and it is a joy to train with them. Everyday, I see them engage with a sport which helps them to develop skills for life, as well as for the water.
The KSC Boat Club has a proud and impressive history, and my vision for the future is rightly ambitious. But to achieve this and to support our pupils and our Club into the future, I need your help.
Our current fleet and blades are made up of mostly lower end equipment. Whilst these are fine for training, to cater for our ambitious and growing squads; we need to increase volume, improve durability and push top-end performance with race-worthy equipment. With the generous support of our community, our first milestone would be to purchase the boats and blades listed below.
