Army cadets had their vital life-saving skills tested in a series of realistic casualty scenarios, marking the end of their Youth First Aid qualification course.

Recognised by St John Ambulance, Youth First Aid equips young people with essential first aid knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to respond effectively in emergency situations.

The cadets studied for the qualification in their own time after weekly cadet training and covered a range of first aid topics, including treating bleeds, burns, and fractures.

Throughout the training, cadets participated in hands-on sessions and simulated scenarios, ensuring they are well prepared to handle real-life emergencies.

The award not only enhances first aid capabilities but also develops wider skills such as teamwork and communication.

Major Goddard, CCF Contingent Commander, commented:
“Congratulations to all the cadets who completed the course. The award is not only a personal achievement but also enables young people to make a difference to the safety of the whole community.”
