A heartwarming story brings the term to a close, as Tradescant House celebrates the impact of its fundraising efforts earlier this year.
Back in January, pupils in Tradescant House took part in a Sleepout, raising an impressive £6,678 for Ronald McDonald House Charities. The charity was chosen by Archie (6b), who had personally benefitted from their support as a child.
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides a safe place for families to stay close to their seriously ill children while they receive medical treatment. The houses offer accommodation, support, and a sense of community, helping families focus on what matters most during difficult times.
This week, Archie visited one of the Ronald McDonald Houses in Camberwell alongside his housemaster, Mr Harrison. The visit marked a significant moment, as the funds raised by Tradescant House have gone towards sponsoring a room within the house.
During the visit, Archie had the honour of unveiling a plaque recognising the contribution from Tradescant House. This was a particularly meaningful experience, as he returned to a place that had supported him and his family during an important time in his childhood.
