Junior King’s has enjoyed a busy and rewarding week filled with academic focus, cultural enrichment, and charitable activities.

Throughout the week, pupils showed exceptional diligence during exams and assessments, demonstrating their commitment to learning. Moreover, Year 6 embarked on an inspiring theatre trip to London, organised by Mrs Banks. The visit gave pupils a memorable chance to experience live performance and broaden their cultural horizons.

On Tuesday, the School gathered at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month to mark Remembrance Day. We joined the nation in honouring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in war and conflict since the First World War. In the Memorial Garden, staff read the names of 50 OJKS and past masters who died in the Second World War. In addition, we prayed for peace in areas of active conflict today. In thanksgiving for those who gave their lives, the School pledged to be peacemakers and peacekeepers for future generations.

Meanwhile, Thursday evening brought a spectacular piano workshop featuring around 50 talented pianists. Performers ranged from the youngest Pre-Prep pupils to seasoned musicians. Many played in front of an audience for the first time. Guest tutor Simon Lepper enriched the event with expert guidance and encouragement, leaving a lasting impression on the young musicians.

Finally, the week concluded with a vibrant fundraising day in support of Children in Need. Pupils and staff took part in creative ’25-minute challenges,’ raising funds for deserving charities. Special thanks go to Mrs Marais and the entire team for making this initiative such a success.
