Marc Chapman, Head of Fencing at The King’s School Canterbury, has successfully defended his title at the 2025 World Crazy Golf Championships, held this weekend at Hastings Adventure Golf in East Sussex.

Chapman secured his fifth title, reinforcing his position as one of the most successful players in the event’s 22-year history. Around 250 competitors took part in the tournament, representing at least seven countries, including the USA and New Zealand.

The competition began with a team event on Friday, followed by six individual qualifying rounds, three on Saturday and three on Sunday. The top 18 scorers advanced to the final, where Chapman delivered a strong performance to take the title once again and claim the £1,250 prize.

He first entered the World Crazy Golf Championships more than a decade ago and won his first title on his tenth attempt. He has continued to return to the event each year and has now claimed five championship victories.

Marc told us after his victory, “I’m thrilled to win again! It was one of the tightest finishes in history, with stormy conditions on Saturday keeping the scores close. On Sunday, I was one shot behind the leaders with three holes to play. An ace on the 16th, another on the 17th, and holing my second putt on the 18th were enough to seal a record-equalling fifth World Title!

The King’s School Canterbury is incredibly proud of his achievement and wishes Marc the best of luck in his next competition.
