The International College recently hosted its second annual Inter Faith day where members of both the IC and The Kings School Canterbury debated and discussed the meaning and importance of faith. They were joined by our own Mother Lucy, James Baskerville from the Kandampa Buddhist temple, Rabbi Cliff Cohen from the Thanet and District Reform Synagogue, Margate, and Dr Sinan Rawi representing the Canterbury Muslim community.

After four half hour sessions which included some fierce debate and calm contemplation, the students took part in musical and artistic activities delivered by Mr Pollott and Miss Erol. The students produced a fantastic mural of faith symbols and a unique meditative piece of music. Four IC students – Egor, Liza, Amir, and Ali – then led the group in a debate questioning if a religious life is worth living. The responses were passionate and the debate skilled. All the external speakers commented on the respect and attentiveness of the students and said they were a credit to the school. We parted all looking forward to next year’s event.
