Kingsdown House is celebrating a remarkable achievement following their inaugural Charity Lunch, which raised £10,500 for two vital causes: Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and Pumping Marvellous, a patient-led heart failure charity. The event brought together students, staff, and supporters, all united by the memory of one of the Kingsdown girls’ father, who sadly passed away from heart failure earlier this year. The lunch was a heartfelt tribute to him and a chance to support those affected by the condition.
The afternoon featured not only a delicious meal but a raffle too, with a wide range of generous prizes donated by local businesses and community members. From bottles of champagne and whisky to Space Masks, perfume, jewellery, ceramics, Body Shop goodies, and chocolates, the support from the community was overwhelming. There was also a silent auction which gave supporters the chance to bid on additional prizes that ranged from concert tickets to a villa break in Provence.
Funds will be split between the two chosen charities, ensuring they can continue their important work in heart failure care and support.
Kingsdown House is incredibly proud of the efforts made by everyone involved and would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who contributed, making this first Charity Lunch a resounding success. We look forward to continuing to support these fantastic charities and making a difference together.
