The Bank Holiday weekend proved both busy and highly successful. In particular, the School Fête and The Friends’ Masquerade Ball brought the community together and highlighted strong support for charity.
The School Fête proved to be a resounding success, with pupils raising an impressive total of over £4,800 for charity. Glorious weather added to the atmosphere, helping to create a joyful and vibrant occasion for families and visitors alike. A wide range of stalls, thoughtfully organised and run by the pupils, showcased impressive creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to see children, parents and staff enjoying the day together.
Gratitude is extended to Mrs Marais for her leadership in organising the event, as well as to the pupils, staff and parents whose collective efforts ensured its success. The funds raised will be donated to the school’s chosen charities, continuing a strong tradition of community support.
Meanwhile, on Saturday evening, The Friends’ Committee hosted the Masquerade Ball after months of planning. Parents supported the occasion and helped create a fantastic atmosphere. The auction generated strong interest, with many guests bidding enthusiastically with the reserved car parking space and catered Sports Day marquee proved especially popular. Consequently, the event raised valuable funds for Oasis Domestic Abuse.
Staff also met with Year 5 pupils to review their chosen work. Pupils spoke confidently about their progress and shared what they enjoy about school life. They also discussed how teachers support their learning. These meetings continue to celebrate achievements and provide important insight into pupil experiences.
The Pre-Prep Open Morning welcomed new families to the school. Visitors met teachers, explored classrooms and experienced the school environment first hand. Pupils demonstrated daily life within the Pre-Prep setting.
Finally, pupils performed in a recent informal concert led by the Music Department. These events give pupils valuable opportunities to build confidence and showcase their talents. More performances will follow later this term.
