Today, pupils at The King’s School Canterbury attended the Futures Fair at the Malthouse. The event was designed to educate and inspire pupils about life beyond King’s, with a particular focus on careers and university applications.
The programme featured a wide range of sessions, structured to reflect a professional conference. These included workshops on architecture, healthcare, performing arts, law, engineering, and finance, many of which were led by professionals and Old King’s Scholars.
Pupils also spent time in the exhibition space, which featured representatives from universities such as King’s College London, Durham, and the University of Hong Kong. There were additional delegates promoting careers and education in the arts, as well as opportunities through Unifrog and work experience providers.
Later in the day, pupils took part in a CV writing and vocational interview workshop before choosing two short sessions focused on practical skills. These included oracy, critical reading, STEM skills, management, and academic interviews.
The day offered a valuable opportunity for pupils to explore future pathways, develop key skills, and hear from people with first-hand experience in a variety of careers and academic fields.
