Our Art department welcomed artists Paul Atkins and Fiona DeBulat from DBA Editions to run a woodcutting workshop for 6b and Fifth pupils. Pupils were guided through each stage of the craft, from transferring their artwork to the blocks, to the carving process and printing the finished artwork. The department regularly host practising artists to deliver talks and hands-on workshops for pupils to gain a better understanding of the opportunities and pathways the subject can offer.
DBA Editions are printmakers based around London and the Kent coast who specialise in etching, lithography, relief and screen-printing. They also run educational outreach programmes, bringing hands-on experience of the full process of printmaking into schools and communities.
