Camilla Webster - New Head of Pre-Prep and NurseryJunior King’s School is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Camilla Webster as the new Head of Pre-Prep and Nursery.

Mrs Webster is an outstanding Pre-Prep and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) specialist, who comes to Junior King’s with a wealth of child-centred experience. She is currently Head of Pre-Prep and Lower School at Old Buckenham Hall School and has served as an Early Years Governor, worked alongside The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS), and was an advisor for the National Schools’ Partnership in her career.

Mrs Karolyi, Head of Junior King’s School says:

“We are very excited about Mrs Webster joining Junior King’s in September. Camilla is passionate about giving children the very best and happiest learning experiences, and I know that she will greatly enjoy building on the strong foundations within the Pre-Prep and Nursery, playing a key role in our exciting future plans and strategic developments.”

Mrs Webster says:

“I am very much looking forward to joining Junior King’s School in September. The King’s School, Canterbury, has an excellent reputation, both locally and nationally, and I feel privileged to be part of such a unique and well-respected community. The Pre-Prep is the start of a child’s journey through this exceptional school and the years they spend with us will be the building blocks for the rest of their education. I will be bringing with me my experience and love for open-ended, child-led learning balanced with the importance of structure and an individual curriculum.

I strongly believe in learning environments which put the children at the centre of their education and will enjoy working with the staff to bring the outside in, as well as taking the children out.

The future of the Pre-Prep at Junior King’s is an exciting one and I am delighted to be part of this journey.”

Mrs Webster will join Junior King’s School in September 2023 and will build on the strong foundations and nurturing leadership laid by her predecessor, Mrs Dee McConkey, who retires this summer after twenty successful years.

The Pre-Prep and Nursery department, housed in a historic Oast House, provides a safe, caring and nurturing environment where every child is an individual.  The foundations for a love of learning and discovery are laid at Junior King’s during these formative years.  The children are provided with a breadth of different learning experiences which inspire them to be creative, curious and confident.
