Albert Einstein is attributed with the old saying ‘time flies when you are having fun’, and that feels particularly apt as we are already approaching our final week of half term. This half term has certainly passed quickly for me, and I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of this school and community as we begin to build toward the festive season. There have also been several firsts for me this week – it was my first visit to Birley’s on Wednesday as I watched two very impressive senior girl hockey teams earn well deserved victories in their matches, and I was impressed with the number of musicians who took part in the first informal music concert of the year last Thursday evening. Over 50 pupils ranging from those who have just started to learn instruments, to those with more experience all had their first opportunities to perform this year. We have many musicians with huge potential and talent, and I look forward to seeing them progress this term.
