This has been an important week for many Year 8 pupils as they completed their Music, Design Technology, Drama, Dance, and Sport Scholarship Assessments. Several pupils shared their enthusiasm for being at King’s and spoke warmly about their Scholarship experiences. Staff enjoyed hearing their views and seeing the pride they take in their work. The assessment period will conclude this week with the Art and Academic Assessments.

A group of Year 7 pupils met with senior staff on Tuesday to present work they had chosen themselves. Their discussion offered valuable insight into their transition from Year 6. Pupils noted the higher expectations, the increase in prep, and the sense of belonging they feel in the Upper School. They also expressed appreciation for their teachers’ support, which has helped them adapt quickly.

The U11 rugby team took part in the Milner 7‑a‑side competition on a bright winter afternoon. Four visiting schools joined Junior King’s for a lively tournament filled with teamwork and healthy competition. The Junior King’s boys played with determination and showed clear progress throughout the event. Congratulations to Ashford Prep, who won the Milner Cup.

The school welcomed vocal specialist Lin Marsh this week. She led a workshop for pupils in Years 3 – 8, giving them the chance to perform and receive guidance from a professional musician. The standard of singing across the school remains very high, and the pupils enjoyed the experience immensely.

On Friday, the Reception class visited Little Seaside Town. The children took part in imaginative role play throughout the colourful and engaging setting. Their enthusiasm and creativity made the visit a highlight of the week.
