As we approach the final few weeks of what has been an exceptionally busy and successful term, the days seem to be passing by ever more quickly. Excitement is building across the school as we count down to the festive season and the many activities planned for the last ten days.

Our Nursery children began the celebrations in impressive fashion with their Nativity play on Thursday. The newly decorated Christmas trees throughout the School have added to the festive atmosphere, and next week our boarding community will enjoy a trip to The Marlowe Theatre to watch the pantomime. We are sure they will relish the usual jokes, fabulous music and stunning costumes.

We are also eagerly awaiting the Friends’ Christmas Market next Wednesday, which will take place in the Sports Hall. The Pre-Prep pupils have been hard at work this week in preparation for their own nativity performances, which will take place next Thursday and Friday. These will provide a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their singing, acting and dancing skills.

It has been another lively and eventful week at school. Our U13 Girls’ Hockey Team represented us at the National IAPS Hockey Tournament, competing against some of the best prep school teams in the country. Their achievement in reaching the finals is outstanding, and they should be very proud of themselves. Today, our U11 Girls’ Hockey Team are also away, having qualified for the National IAPS Hockey Tournament.

Last Friday, our Chamber Choir spread seasonal cheer at the Wealden Times Midwinter Fair, delighting the audience with a selection of well-known carols. Continuing the musical theme, congratulations are also due to the pupils who completed their ABRSM exams this week.
