8 medals, 5km, £400 for charity and a lot of paint!
Seven pupils joined Miss Astin (Head of Partnerships) at Betteshanger Country Park to take part in the Kent Messenger Charity Team Colour Run. Students and staff from across schools in the East Kent Schools Together partnership raised money for Reach, a charity which helps children with upper limb differences. The charity was chosen by the EKST Student Voice, and the King’s team have raised nearly £400 in total.
Hundreds of participants started the 5km run at 10.30 am, preceded by a Zumba warm-up, before being showered with powdered paint. King’s pupil Rob Rix sprinted home in about 18 minutes to finish first! It was great fun, good for fitness and a wonderful way to raise money for a good cause.
