9 King’s hockey players attend England trials
King’s had nine representatives at the England Hockey trials during half term.
Harriet Brealy (Carlyon, Fifth) and Esme De Hann (Luxmoore, Fifth) were both considered for Under-16 selection. Rebecca Hutchings (Carlyon, Fifth), Issy Hemming (Harvey House, 6b), Grace Murray (Broughton, 6a) and Iona Boyd (Carlyon, 6a) were all put forward for the Under-18 Girls squad, while Harrison MacKinnon (Mitchinson’s, Fifth), Henry Brett (Carlyon, 6a) and Will Allen (Carlyon, 6a) vied for places in the parallel Boy’s side.
Many of them already attend England Performance Centres or Canterbury Hockey Club alongside the coaching they receive at school training sessions and the King’s Excellence Programme, and Henry has even been training with the Canterbury Men’s First XI this season.
