A hockey masterclass
Top women’s hockey players gave forty Prep School girls a superb day of fun and expert coaching at The King’s School last Thursday. The Masterclass, organised by, Jen Wilson and Susie Rowe, Heads of Hockey at King’s and outstanding players and coaches in their own right, also featured Susie Townsend (who won a Gold for England in the recent Euro Hockey tournament), Dirkie Chamberlain (South African 2012 Olympian) and Helen Fagg (1st team goalkeeper Canterbury). Pupils from Saint Ronan’s School, Junior King’s and Lorenden enjoyed every minute of the day, with a special highlight after lunch when they were given the opportunity to ask Susie and Dirkie questions and to see Susie’s Gold Medal.
Following an afternoon match play session for the girls to practice the skills which they had learnt earlier, autographs and photographs from the hockey stars ended a memorable day.
