A is for Arsenic

The King’s School Harvey Science Society, established in 1892, welcomed Dr. Kathryn Harkup to talk about Chemistry and the Human body. She provided entertainment and horror in equal quantities by talking about the Chemistry of poisons including, Phosphorous, Strychnine and Arsenic. Dr. Kathryn Harkup is a chemist and science communicator and the author of ‘A is for Arsenic: The Poisons of Agatha Christie’. All pupils and staff were welcome to the talk and Fifth Form and Sixth Form pupils were allowed to dine with the speaker after the talk.

Kathryn was a really engaging speaker and King’s hope to have her back very soon for another talk.
