A Level Success
The King’s School, Canterbury has enjoyed another year of very good A level results this August: a vibrant and large year group (185 girl and boy Leavers) achieved 21% A*s and 83% A*-B grades.
Not surprisingly given this consistency amongst the top grades, the vast majority are now packing their bags for their first-choice universities and others are either safely on to their insurance offer or have landed a good alternative course through clearing.
It would be invidious to single out individuals from what is always a collective success, but 14 candidates gained three A*s or above and 57 pupils were awarded 100% A*/As.
As always at King’s, particularly in the light of a wonderful King’s Week in July and the notable improvement in sporting performances (the school was back rowing at The Henley Regatta and the Senior boys Quad won a gold medal at National Schools, the Fencers won the UK schools competition, and the Hockey and Cricket kept up the high standards shown last year), this will go down in the school’s annals as a diversely talented and well-rounded group of confident and out-going young people whose efforts in the arts, sports and music will long be remembered.
