‘A Palace fit for King’s’

Ten members of the OKS were invited to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh certificates at St James Palace. Once again, The King’s School Canterbury had a large number of successful participants attending and were granted the honour of sending a representative, Miss Kate Batty, from the Duke of Edinburgh staff body. HRH Prince Edward (The Earl of Wessex) presented the awards and Kate proved to be a star in the way she had the award recipients in their places, keeping them all amused prior to his arrival.

The OKS in the photo all completed their awards whilst at school at King’s. Well done to Bede Tyler, Annie Briggs, Elizabeth Friend, Clara Taylor and all those who gained Gold awards.
