Charlie (OKS) named in England U20 squad

Saracens player Charlie Watson (OKS, 2013-18) has been named in the England Under-20 training squad as they prepare for the 2020 U20 Six Nations Championship.

The 45-man squad will convene for a camp from Thursday to Saturday and an elite player squad of 32 will be named for the tournament in January.

Charlie’s selection is the latest achievement in an incredible seven-month spell for the former Carlyon boy.

Since May this year, he’s helped Sarries claim the Premiership Shield title, the Premiership Rugby 7s trophy and made his debut for the club’s 1st XV, scoring on all three occasions.

He has also started a Natural Sciences undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge, having picked up four A*s during his time at King’s.

The news comes a day after current 6a pupil Matt Stonier (Marlowe) was selected for the Great Britain U20 squad for the European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon in just under two weeks.
