David Coleman gives conducting masterclass to Music Scholars

Three King’s Music Scholars enjoyed a conducting masterclass with maestro David Coleman, former conductor of the Paris Opera Ballet.

David regularly guests with European Opera Houses La Scala, Opera di Roma and Dresden Semperoper, so it was a privilege for the boys, Riccardo Boiteux (School House, 6b), Oscar Colliar (Galpin’s, 6b), Piers Holden (Tradescant, 6a), to learn from him.

The session took place in the Clagett Auditorium in the Cathedral Study Centre, and they prepared the Dance of the Knights from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet before enjoying the opportunity to conduct it with the Canterbury Orchestra.
