Henry runs Lockdown marathon to support Jersey Hospice
Henry O’Connor (Linacre, 6b) ran a marathon on the first Saturday of half term to raise money for Jersey Hospice, who have been caring for his aunt Claire after she was diagnosed with cancer.
His efforts were picked up by ITV Jersey who interviewed Henry and his parents, and he has now raised £3,500.
It was a late decision to take on the 26.2-mile distance, in part to have a new challenge during the latest lockdown. Henry trained for just a month following a training plan Mr Lister, Housemaster of Linacre and Head of Rugby, had sent him.
Despite such minimal preparation, Henry broke his target of four and a half hours by clocking a time of 4:20.
You can still support Henry by donating to Jersey Hospice on his fundraising page.
