Hope twins lead Cambridge to varsity fencing victory

Arran and Oliver Hope (OKS 2016), President and Vice-President of Cambridge University Fencing Club, helped claim victory over Oxford in the varsity match on Saturday.

The 113th edition of the historic fixture took place in the 19th-century Examination Schools building in Oxford.

Having spent five years in School House, the twins went on to Cambridge where Oliver is studying Chinese Studies and Japanese while Arran is undertaking a Masters in Computer Science, having achieved a First in the same subject at undergraduate level.

Oliver had been President of the University Fencing Club in 2018-19 before his brother took the reins in September.

They were both actively involved in the sport during their time at King’s and were selected to represent Ireland at international competitions on multiple occasions.

Congratulations to the boys on their continued success at Cambridge.
