Jazz at the Movies

Tuesday saw the long awaited return of the professional jazz outfit, Jazz at the Movies, featuring the amazing vocals of Joanna Eden ("The UK’s answer to Norah Jones and Diana Krall" TIME OUT and teacher of music artist Sam Smith) fronting a band filled with top jazz players, led by Chris Ingram (piano).

The amazing hour long concert followed an afternoon masterclass with the school’s modern jazz group, who opened the evening with a display of all that they learnt, Horace Silver’s, Song for my Father. Such an evening was inevitably over all too soon, but many of us will hear them again, when they return to the city for the Canterbury Festival, later this month.
