King’s School host Prep School Girls’ Cricket tournament

Senior King’s welcomed local prep schools: Lorenden, Ashford, Junior King’s and Wellesley House for the King’s School U11 Prep Schools Girls’ Cricket Tournament.

Torrential rain all day meant that the tournament had to be moved indoors to the King’s Recreation Centre. With rules adapted to encourage high scoring games, smaller pitches were also created to allow two matches to be played at the same time. The afternoon proved a thoroughly exciting and enjoyable afternoon for both players, staff and spectators. There was an impressively high skill-level on display and it was exciting to see such local cricketing talent as girls’ cricket continues to grow at prep school level as well as at senior level.

Congratulations to all involved for some extremely close matches and well done to Ashford Prep who emerged victorious after an undefeated afternoon to take home the gold medals!
