King’s Talk – ‘Deserts, Mountains & Covid-19: Life as an Expedition Doctor’

We were delighted to hear from Nathan Hudson-Peacock (Marlowe 2005-10) on ‘Deserts, Mountains & Covid-19: Life as an Expedition Doctor’ in the first of a series of ‘King’s Talks’ over Zoom last Wednesday (23rd of September).

Nathan works as an NHS Emergency Department physician but the talk was focused on his experiences providing medical support to national and international expeditions.

Most recently, he had been due to assist a remote expedition through the Wadi Rum Desert in Jordan last March. But then, COVID-19 struck. Instead, he found himself on the frontline as a doctor working in Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine in two major London hospitals.

Nathan has some incredible stories and gave invaluable insight for anyone looking to pursue a career in medicine. You can watch the full talk via the OKS YouTube channel below.
