King’s Talks: NATO Assistant Secretary General speaks to pupils
Our comprehensive King’s Education Online co-curricular programme has been a source of normality for the whole school community. There is certainly no shortage of options despite challenging circumstances.
Regular evening King’s Talks with speakers of distinguished and intriguing backgrounds are an important fixture of life in the Precincts, and they have remained in place via Microsoft Teams this Summer Term. This week, we had Head of Politics Mr Moelwyn-Hughes—who grew up in South Africa—giving a talk on ‘The Rise and Fall of Apartheid’ on Tuesday, and on Thursday we were privileged to hear NATO Assistant Secretary General Giedrimas Jeglinskas speak aptly about ‘Leading in Dangerous Times’. Q&As followed both sessions.
The talks were well attended and engagement in a range of activities has been exceptional, with pupils making the most of the resources on offer.
