More success for King’s Golf Team at HMC Foursomes

The King’s golfers represented the school, for the first time, at the National Finals of the HMC Foursomes, the most prestigious Public School team golf competition.

Fresh from their success at the HG Trophy, the team of Charlie Cook (Marlowe, 6a), Christy Francis (Linacre, 6a), Tom Fish (Mitchinson’s, 6a) and Harry Coe (School House, 6a) played very well over 36 holes on a fine course with some very challenging greens at Huntercombe GC.

Whilst they were never in danger of beating Tim Henman’s course record, the team’s combined Stableford points total placed them as the highest team from the South-East region.

This was a fine achievement to end a very successful golfing era for this group of 6as. Charlie and Christy should be particularly congratulated on being undefeated in foursomes matches over their five years in the school’s team.
