Our Primary Partnership Schools celebrate British Science Week 2021

We were delighted to help our 24 Canterbury Primary Partnership Schools to celebrate British Science Week (8th-13th March) with its exciting theme of Innovating For the Future.

As the science week coincided with schools returning to full session after lockdown, we felt it extremely important to support the science leads from our CPSP schools in delivering the week simply and with maximum impact.

We provided 8 science subject leads with the opportunity to attend a CPD session run by the STEM Hub on how to deliver British Science Week and also held a science lead meeting where we discussed and shared resources. Dr Geoff Nelson, our Head of Science Partnerships, developed resources for the week including a Science Walk resource and a Robo-Bug competition. He is also working on extended resources with student volunteers from King’s.

As a focal point to the week, Kings School Partnerships held an online assembly with Jo Fox from Spacefund with over 11 CPSP schools attending. Jo is a space and robotics expert and she delighted our audience with her amazing RoboKids show. The children loved the show which covered robotics and a virtual voyage to Mars. It felt wonderful to have so many CPSP schools enjoying the wonder of science together again.
