Rowers take two titles at Cambridge Autumn Head
Our Senior Girls and Remove Boys both came in as the fastest coxed fours of the day at the Cambridge Autumn Head on Saturday.
Natasha Southorn (Jervis, 6a), Millie Butcher (Harvey, 6a), Sofia Smith (Mitchinson’s, 6a), Cecily Ross (Jervis, 6b) and cox Cici Zhao (Jervis, 6a) were leading women’s boat while Removes Jasper Wolff (Galpin’s), Bear Cochrane (Marlowe), Theo Outram (Marlowe), George Gibbs (Marlowe) and cox Abbie Flint (Broughton) were the fastest boys coxed four across all age groups.
The Remove Girls also finished third in their event after a competitive day’s racing.
Meanwhile, in Rouen the Boys’ Eight came a tight second at the Defi Seine.
On an 8km course with a racing turn, clubs from Gravelines, Boulogne, Paris and Rouen had all put out strong Junior Eights, but King’s were comfortably ahead of all bar one—a Parisian eight who beat them by just 40 seconds (a small margin over the relatively long distance).
